With the transfer window heating up, Tottenham Hotspur could complete as many as five deals before the Premier League season kicks off.
The summer transfer window is not too far away from slamming shut, with the window expected to close on 1 September.
So far, Spurs have been one of the busier sides this summer, securing the services of six new players and spending £237 million.
Tottenham have also sanctioned several outgoings as they continue to reshape their squad ahead of the 26-27 season.
But with time ticking, the coming weeks could be pivotal for Spurs in the transfer market, with as many as five deals expected to be completed.
We have now put together five different transfers that could go through in the coming weeks.
Cristian Romero could seal Atletico Madrid move
Cristian Romero’s time at Tottenham could soon come to an end. Roberto De Zerbi revealed that he had an agreement with the Spurs captain to help him secure a move this summer, so long as he helped Tottenham stay up last season.
With Spurs having avoided the drop, work has been ongoing to get Romero a move away from north London.
Interest has been plentiful, with Arsenal, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid all in the mix. However, it is Diego Simeone’s side leading the race for Romero as negotiations continue.
A deal could be reached at some point this summer.
Djed Spence edging closer to Inter Milan switch
Romero is far from the only defender who could depart Tottenham this summer. Full-back Djed Spence has also attracted interest from clubs in the Premier League and across Europe.
Liverpool have been linked with a move for Spence, while Inter Milan are firmly in the mix. An official bid for the versatile full-back has already been sent by the Italian giants.
Reports claim that a move could now be agreed in the coming days after Spence reached an agreement on personal terms with Inter Milan. Fabrizio Romano has even given a £27m deal his ‘here we go’ seal of approval.
Mikey Moore closing in on FC Köln loan
Permanent transfers are not the only business Tottenham could complete in the coming weeks.
Spurs will also look to loan out their players, as they have already done with several stars this summer.
Yang Min-hyeok only recently secured a loan move to Westerlo, and another such move could be imminent.
Reports claim that Moore, after a stellar loan spell with Rangers last season, is closing in on another loan move abroad.
Köln are believed to be the teenager’s preferred destination as he looks to gain much-needed game time and first-team experience. While all agreements have been reached by the various parties involved, the only thing remaining is the final green light from Roberto De Zerbi.
Ashley Phillips deal stalls after Middlesbrough agreement
A move away from Tottenham is on the brink of being completed by Ashley Phillips. Middlesbrough and Spurs are understood to have reached a £20 million agreement that is expected to see the 21-year-old move to the Riverside Stadium.
An announcement could well have come last week, but there was an issue with Phillips during his medicals.
At the moment, the deal has been stalled as all parties involved look to work out a solution. Should that be resolved, Phillips’ move to the Championship will be completed.
Savinho transfer remains possible for Tottenham
There could still be a new signing for Tottenham in the coming weeks. It is no secret Spurs are looking to bolster their attack after spending £237 million strengthening their defence and midfield.
One who could come through the door is Savinho. The wide forward is understood to have put in a transfer request at Manchester City as he looks to force a move to north London.
Talks between Spurs and City are reported to be ongoing as they look to find solutions for the winger.
Should Tottenham make a breakthrough in those talks, then the Savinho switch would be completed, bringing an end to a year-long saga.
