Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to work hard to push through a big-money deal for Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali.
Over recent days, it has emerged that Spurs are now readying a mammoth £100m offer for Tonali, with the club set to shatter their transfer record to bring the midfielder to North London.
Tottenham are reportedly willing to make the Newcastle star their highest-paid player, as they look to flex their financial muscle and unite the Brescia-born midfielder with Roberto De Zerbi.
The Lilywhites seem to be well placed to complete the transfer, with reports indicating that the Newcastle star has given the green light to complete a move to Spurs.
This comes after Tottenham beat Man United to an £85m deal for Mateus Fernandes on Tuesday.

Tottenham are optimistic about completing Sandro Tonali deal
According to talkSPORT, Spurs are now ‘optimistic’ that Tonali will become their next signing of the summer window, following Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka.
The report says that the former AC Milan man has already agreed to move to the North London side as talks continue between the player and the Lilywhites. An agreement is already in place between Tonali and Tottenham on the broad terms of his contract.
While Arsenal and Man City also continue to hold an interest in the Newcastle star, it is revealed that De Zerbi has been a ‘key factor’ giving the Lilywhites the advantage.
Why Spurs are well placed to land Tonali
After the Eberechi Eze transfer saga last summer, some Spurs fans will still be wary of the Tonali deal being hijacked and will not celebrate until they see him holding up a Tottenham shirt.
In fact, some reports continue to suggest that Arsenal and Man City could enter the race for the Newcastle man.
However, according to Alfredo Pedulla, Tonali is keen to honour his word to De Zerbi, having already informed the Tottenham boss that he will sign for his side.
Spurs supporters will desperately be hoping that the Lilywhites can finalise an agreement before the midfielder has a change of heart.
