Tottenham Hotspur are considering the possibility of sanctioning Luka Vuskovic’s departure as Brighton & Hove Albion steps up their pursuit of the highly rated youngster.
Tottenham Hotspur have major decisions to make as they look to rebuild their squad during the summer transfer window following a dismal campaign last season, which saw them finish 17th and just two points above the relegation zone.
The club have already been aggressive in their rebuild, signing both Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi – two additions expected to strengthen their backline.
However, there has been no sign of Spurs easing off, with the Lilywhites still in the race for Jan Paul van Hecke.
Tottenham have already submitted two bids for the Dutchman, both of which have been rejected. Spurs Web has since reported that a third offer for van Hecke is now being prepared as Tottenham attempts to convince Brighton to sell.

Tottenham could sanction Luka Vuskovic sale amid Brighton interest
Interestingly, Tottenham’s pursuit of van Hecke has had a knock-on effect, with Brighton now turning their attention towards highly rated Spurs defender Luka Vuskovic.
The Seagulls have submitted a £30m offer for Vuskovic, while some reports even claim that personal terms have already been agreed between Brighton and the Tottenham youngster.
TeamTalk is now reporting that Tottenham could sanction the sale of Vuskovic this summer after the defender informed the club that he wants to join Brighton and Hove Albion.
The teenager is eager for more game time and believes a move to the Amex Stadium would benefit his development.
Since joining Tottenham in 2023, Vuskovic is yet to play a competitive game for the club, having spent his time out on loan.
Interest is not limited to Brighton either, with several of Europe’s biggest clubs also keen on the defender, although it is understood that his preference is Brighton.
Vuskovic’s agents float buy-back agreement idea
Spurs Web has since reported that Tottenham rejected Brighton’s initial £30m bid for Vuskovic.
However, that alone is unlikely to stop Brighton from returning with another offer as they remain keen on signing the defender this summer.
With Spurs pushing hard to land van Hecke, Brighton have accelerated their pursuit of Vuskovic, although the two deals are not directly linked.
Brighton remain firm in their valuation of van Hecke, who is valued at around £70m. Tottenham’s third offer for the defender is expected to move closer to that figure, and there is optimism that a deal could eventually be accepted.
The potential arrival of van Hecke, alongside the signing of Senesi, would only further limit Vuskovic’s pathway into the first team, and that has contributed to him considering a move to Brighton.
It is now understood that Tottenham are seriously considering Brighton’s proposal, although any final decision will be closely linked to the outcome of negotiations for van Hecke.
Meanwhile, Vuskovic’s representatives have floated the possibility of including a buy-back clause in any agreement.
However, such a provision has not yet been agreed and would still depend on further discussions with the player. It is understood to be an option Tottenham would consider if they ultimately decide to part ways with the Croatian international.
