Pedro Porro has posted an injury update for Tottenham Hotspur fans, four days after he sustained a worrying injury at home to Aston Villa.
Spurs’ injury problems have been well documented over the past 24 months, with the likes of Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, Xavi Simons, Mohammed Kudus and many, many more enduring long spells on the sidelines.
However, Thomas Frank, Igor Tudor, and Roberto De Zerbi were all able to call on one ever-present last season for the Lilywhites – Pedro Porro.
Porro played 47 games for Tottenham Hotspur in 2025/26, including 34 of 38 Premier League games and nine Champions League fixtures. He also contributed two goals and six assists – both of which Spurs have been lacking so far this season.
| Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Premier League | 34 | 1 | 2 |
| Champions League | 9 | 1 | 3 |
| League Cup | 2 | 0 | 0 |
| FA Cup | 1 | 0 | 1 |
| UEFA Super Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| Total | 47 | 2 | 6 |

What happened with Pedro Porro’s injury at Tottenham?
After Porro went down in the 19th-minute against Aston Villa, the World Cup winner instantly slammed his palm against the turf in frustration. He knew it was no minor knock.
After the final whistle of the 3-2 defeat, Roberto De Zerbi revealed an update: “Listen, Pedro, I said after the World Cup, I said the management of Pedro should be different, because after the World Cup, many games. I don’t know what the problem is. It’s a hamstring, I think. Hopefully, it’s not a big problem.”
Porro then pulled out of the Spain squad for the extended international break in another indication that the injury would keep him out for at least a number of weeks.
The Tottenham right-back posted an ominous message on social media one day later. He wrote: “Sometimes you have to stop, take a breath and start again. Now it’s time to recover and trust the process. I’ll come back stronger, hungrier and more motivated than ever. This is just another obstacle on the road. See you soon.”
Many Tottenham fans took this as the action of a player who knows he will be out for a long period of time. Now, we have a new update from Porro…

Porro posts injury update from Hotspur Way
Pedro Porro took to Instagram on Wednesday afternoon to post an injury update to Tottenham fans. While the Spurs right-back does not reveal the severity of his issue, Porro is back at Hotspur Way doing rehab this week while many of his teammates enjoy seven days off.
It’s hard to say whether this is a positive sign or just normal behaviour. One would assume that Porro wouldn’t be training at all if his hamstring was injured a matter of days ago. But there is also the chance that he was just at Hotspur Way for light tests or scans.
Unfortunately, Tottenham fans may have to wait a full three weeks before we get an official update from De Zerbi in his next pre-Man United press conference.
