Micky van de Ven has reportedly agreed a new bumper contract with Tottenham Hotspur, just weeks before the start of the new season.
Although Roberto De Zerbi has admitted that he will not try to convince the likes of Cristian Romero to stay at Spurs, the Italian has managed to get a buy-in from many of the club’s most important players.
Pedro Porro signed a new long-term contract earlier this summer, which was a big show of faith in De Zerbi after the Lilywhites barely avoided relegation last season.
Van de Ven is now set to follow Porro’s lead and commit himself to the club ahead of the Italian’s first full season in charge.

This morning, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Spurs had reached a full agreement with Van de Ven’s camp on a new contract, as the club embarks on a new era.
Tottenham insider, Szyexcl, has now shared some interesting details about the Netherlands international’s new deal.
He revealed the contract is five years long, with a further one-year extension option, and it will see the Dutch centre-back become one of the highest-paid players at the club.
Szyexcl wrote on X about Van de Ven’s contract: “Five-year contract with option to 2032. Now one of the highest earners at THFC.”
Will Van de Ven’s new salary come close to Sandro Tonali’s?
There is now a huge gap at Tottenham between the highest earner at the club and the rest of the squad, with one of the club’s summer signings getting a bumper deal.
Sandro Tonali is now reportedly earning £250k per week, which is comfortably higher than joint second on the list: Xavi Simons and Cristian Romero, who are on £195k a week.
Van de Ven was previously on just £90k a week, as per Sportac, and one would not be surprised if the new deal takes him above the £200k a week mark.
