Wantaway £50m Tottenham star agrees personal terms after missing Brentford opener

A Tottenham star, who missed the club’s opening game of the season at Brentford, is now edging closer to a late departure from North London.

Spurs were handed a major reality check by Brentford on Saturday, with Keith Andrews’ men brushing the Lilywhites aside 3-0 in the opening game of the season.

The one mitigating factor for Roberto De Zerbi’s side was the fact that it was far from a full-strength team, and a side which included four debutants.

More big names are expected to be added to the Tottenham squad before the window closes, but one youngster is also moving closer to the exit door.

Tottenham star Pape Matar Sarr has agreed personal terms with Galatasaray

It has been widely reported over recent weeks that Spurs are listening to offers for Pape Sarr after reinforcing their midfield with big signings earlier this summer.

Over recent days, there have been reports that Galatasaray have submitted an offer for the Tottenham midfielder, and it has now been revealed by journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu that the 23-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Turkish club.

He asserted that Galatasaray are now working to finalise an agreement with the North London club for the Senegal international.

Sabuncuoglu wrote on X: “Galatasaray has reached an agreement with Pape Sarr and Ismaila Sarr! Transfer fee negotiations are underway with their clubs!”

De Zerbi admits he is unsure if Sarr will stay

Galatasaray are not the only side eyeing the Tottenham man, with reports indicating that Sarr is also of interest to Brentford, Aston Villa and Al Ahli.

De Zerbi has admitted that he does not know if the midfielder will remain at Spurs by the end of the window, but he described the youngster as an ‘important player’.

While it was reported earlier this summer that Sarr was valued by Tottenham at £30m, TEAMtalk claimed a few days ago that the Lilywhites could demand closer to £50m for the 23-year-old.
