Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe reveals that the Lilywhites are planning something big in the transfer window amid the lull we have seen over the last few weeks.
Spurs have signed six players for a combined £237m this summer, but the last of those was completed at the start of this month, with there being a lull since the arrival of Sandro Tonali.
Reports indicate that Tottenham want to make multiple additions to their forward line this summer, including a striker, before the new campaign gets underway.
However, the Lilywhites do not appear particularly close to securing any number nine at the moment, with Bournemouth maintaining that Spurs-linked Eli Junior Kroupi is not for sale.
Tottenham will ‘go big again’ after selling some players
Most of the speculation involving Spurs at the moment is about exits rather than potential incomings.
Lucas Bergvall is widely expected to leave N17, while reports indicate that Inter Milan are in talks with Tottenham over Cristian Romero and Djed Spence.
Paul O’Keefe has now revealed that Spurs are now focusing on moving on some of their players and they will then attempt to ‘go big’ again on improving the squad.
O’Keefe wrote on X: “Spurs moving some out and will then go big (attempt) again.”
Why Spurs may be able to afford more big-money signings
If Will Lankshear’s proposed move to Middlesbrough goes through, Tottenham would have already recouped an astonishing £113m so far this summer.
Spurs’ current net spend (without Lankshear’s sale) stands at £144m, and reports indicate that at least five more senior Tottenham stars will leave the club.
That means that the Lilywhites could have the means to make another couple of big-money additions to their squad if they wish.
