‘Leaving is never easy’ – Kevin Danso sends emotional goodbye to Tottenham fans

Following his loan move to Sunderland in search of more game time, Kevin Danso has now sent a message to Tottenham supporters.

It has been a busy deadline day full of movement in north London at Tottenham Hotspur, with several deals taking place as the summer transfer window reaches its conclusion.

The Lilywhites are expected to complete at least two signings before the 11pm deadline, while several other departures remain on the cards.

Pape Matar Sarr recently completed his move to Juventus a few hours ago, and the 23-year-old midfielder took to social media to send a message to Spurs fans following his departure.

Now Kevin Danso has followed suit following his loan move to Sunderland, which includes a £25 million obligation to buy next summer.

Kevin Danso sends message to Tottenham fans after Sunderland move

Taking to social media platform Instagram, Danso has now reflected on his time at Tottenham and addressed the supporters following his departure.

The centre-back’s message offered an insight into his feelings towards the club and those who played a part in his time in north London, with Danso making clear what Spurs will continue to mean to him.

Danso’s message read: “Every chapter has its moment, and now it’s time for a new one.

“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey at @spursofficial. To my teammates, coaches, staff and, most importantly, the fans. Thank you for the memories, the support and everything you’ve given me along the way.

“I’ll always be grateful for the time I’ve spent here and for the people I’ve met who have made this chapter so special. There have been many moments I’ll carry with me for the rest of my career.

“Leaving is never easy, but I leave with nothing but gratitude and pride for what we’ve shared. I’ll always have a special place in my heart for this club.

Kevin Danso departure takes Spurs sales past £250m

Danso’s departure alongside Sarr’s now takes Spurs’ income from player sales up to a whopping £254 million this summer.

Meanwhile, the Lilywhites have spent £389m on player purchases, including £7 million on Tosin Adarabioyo, who is the replacement for Danso.

This summer now stands as one of the busiest in Tottenham’s history, with a whopping 10 players signed and 12 players sold. 2026/27 marks the biggest spend in Spurs’ entire history.
