PL SPURS Vs Chelsea Sunday Sep19th 16.30 KO

I sure wish Romero would fully integrate into the team. I haven't liked what we have seen of Tanganga recently and feel he could use a spell.

ECL Rennes Vs SPURS Thurs Sep 16th 17.45 KO

Lucky to get a draw against a Ligue 1 side. Not good

ECL Rennes Vs SPURS Thurs Sep 16th 17.45 KO

Bright early and now putrid. Rennes have probably been the better team since our goal. Sad

PL Crystal Palace Vs SPURS Sat 11th Sep 12:30 KO

One of the worst performances I can remember in league play. The starting 11 was bad enough, Winks should never be in a starting 11 in a PL match, Davies comes on as a sub and manages to give up two goals. Disappointment from those two is nothing new, but Royal thrown right into the 11 and looks poor throughout. Not even a wisp of offensive mentality. obviously we had a hand tied behind our back with players unavailable, but this shows how the roster is still thin and filled with a bench that isnt good enough for our aspirations. the lack of investment the last several years is still bedeviling us.
  5. One wonders if, this early in the season, the minutes given to first team players was more about bringing fitness up to where it needs to be?
  6. I like to see defenders with a mean streak!

    Is Kane Staying ?

It would seem that, since his fitness has been an issue for two full years, he either lacks the necessary motivation to raise it or he isn't capable of reaching the fitness levels the Premier League requires. It's a shame either way because he's a wizard with the ball at his feet.
  8. Looks as though I'll be listening to the match commentary on the Spurs website or Talksport again. COYS!

PL Wolves Vs SPURS Sun Aug 22nd 14.00 KO

A pretty flaccid performance all around. There were some good moments and more than a few bullets dodged. I think that Wolves deserved a point, really. I’m with James, in that I am not sure about Nuno yet. He seems to get more out of the roster we have but that roster is still not good enough. I fear Levy was attracted to him (even as our 5th choice or whatever he was) for his reputation for getting more out of average players, since Levy does not seem keen on investing in the team this window. And with the winter usually thin, even if we got a ransom for Kane we’d be waiting until next season to see any fruit.

    Is Kane Staying ?

I tend to agree. I think that up until this summer Kane has always played the good soldier even when he wasn't altogether pleased with the club's direction. His intentionally reporting late and not being ready for matchweek 1, or maybe even 2, does not match with the player he's always been so something has definitely changed. If he's not concerned about the start of our season he must not be thinking that he's staying. If he's not fully committed then maybe selling him should be the answer. I don't hold his wanting to leave Spurs against him, he's not getting younger and we are not a title threat. But this charade has lowered my opinion of him a bit. I hope Levy gets full value for him and that we spend that money wisely.

ECL Pacos de Ferreira vs SPURS Aug 19th 19:30 KO

I wasn't able to see it, but it sounds like I didn't miss much. I don't like the strategy of seeing if the youth team can win it and then having to field a full team for the second leg if they fail, but Nuno had the first team flying high on Sunday. Early signs were positive so I'll try to remain so.

    Winks

Winks seems more like a Championship player to me.

21/22 PL SPURS Vs Man City Sun 15th Aug 16:30 K.O.

Finally the boys are back. Without the benefit of the preseason matches it's been some time since I've seen a match, looking forward to it and COYS!

I enjoy the matchday threads, although in the city where I have moved now there is a Spurs supporters group. I will plan on meeting them to watch a few matches this year as well.

    Is Kane Staying ?

I have not tried to follow it either. Even with the Romero signing, the news would go back and forth between "done deal" and "no deal" several times a day. They can wake me when it's over...

    Spurs Podcasts

Well James if you've got a phone or even a laptop you can listen to podcasts. Podcasts are radio programs that people download to their computers or phones or mobile devices. Anyone can create a podcast and publish it, but most journalists and TV networks produce a slate of podcasts now. Every so often a new episode appears automatically in your app and you can listen to it whenever you like. It's nice. I like The View From The Lane. There's another one called Last Word On Spurs which is a bit cranky for me, although most of the others are saltier still. But listening to the programs makes me feel more connected to the club as another overseas fan mentioned above.

The View From The Lane is the best one out there, IMO

    Is Kane Staying ?

With this latest report that Nuno has only met Kane for the first time today and is highly unimpressed with his reporting late, one wonders if we will see Kane this weekend. I admire Nuno if it's true, for pushing for players to be sold if they are not fully committed to the club. I only hope we could spend on the replacements quickly to bolster the squad for this year.

21/22 PL SPURS Vs Man City Sun 15th Aug 16:30 K.O.

It likely won't be a friendly introduction for Nuno and we seem likely to be without Kane suspiciously. Tempting to sleep in...

    Is Kane Staying ?

Perhaps it will turn out that we are selling at the peak of the Kane market. As much as I love the man in our shirt, his powers might have peaked. He clearly doesn't want to be here and we'll never get more than we will right now. If it's invested wisely we could come out ahead with the ransom we'll get for him.

    Is Kane Staying ?

Sad situation... but I think mentally he's already moved on. I don't approve of his holdout but I blame Levy for this. With a generational talent like Kane, even a penny-pincher like Levy should be able to win trophies. Instead he's let the team decay through lack of investment and his disastrous Mourinho fiasco. Now the club's crown jewel won't even show up. Thanks, Levy for building a glittering new stadium and being content to put a solidly mid-table side in it...

    EURO 2020

With Sancho and Rashford, they ought to know better. It seemed like the Italian player did it, and then they thought “well I’ll do that too.” The mistake of inexperience, play your game. Don’t be influenced by others. Do what you do well. It’s not a time for parlor tricks or training ground stuff

    EURO 2020

So sorry, friends. I was behind you the whole way, a shame to lose that way. I don’t understand why they lacked so much ambition after scoring the opener. And of course I don’t know how you could not have Sterling or Grealish take one of the first five penalties. Clearly he intended Rashford to be one of the shooters, but the other choices didn’t make a lot of sense.

    EURO 2020

Sterling had started to dive before the first, extremely minor contact even occurred. When the (also very minor) hip contact happened after that, he was already headed to the ground. I'm all for England in the Euros, but this kind of disgraceful thing needs to be driven out of football.
