Why in the World would a manager with such a massive ego not wish to be in charge of one of the top six Super League teams ? It just doesn't make sense. There is no way he would refuse to train the team and give Daniel an inexpensive escape route. This has been carefully orchestrated by Levy to deflect attention from the Super League announcement and give the team a fighting chance to beat City. Ryan Mason will act as caretaker now but I would not be surprised if the new manager was announced very soon and his name was Nagelsmann.

As per my recent'ish post, I haven't been posting since Jose was appointed as manager - I just had a feeling that he would take us back in terms of progress and we would stop playing attractive, attacking football - pretty much the same as when that gooner took temporary charge.
Well, now that he's gone I'll try and get into the habit of posting more often.
I know that Nagelsmann (RBL manager) has been touted as potential next manager, but I haven't heard Eddie Howe being mentioned. EH is supposedly off to Celtic, but I believe that has been dragging on for a while - maybe waiting to see what happens with Jose?
Roy Keane would be a good one to give everyone a good kick up the backside, but that won't happen.

Because the only chance of motivating the team and selecting the best players available was to get rid of him now. It's given the squad a massive morale boost and hopefully will have them fired up to beat City. Also Daniel could not risk us winning it under Mourinho's management as I would imagine it would have cost more to sack him plus it would have looked strange sacking someone who has brought the club it's first trophy for years.
Wonderful move by Daniel Levy, really glad he's had the balls to do it !

I can see why Levy could feel Spurs have to be part of this, rather than be left outside looking in at the pack of other huge clubs who’ve signed up to it.
I don’t agree with the whole thing at all, but if this does happen then you can see how it would cripple Spurs completely if we weren’t in it.
The single worst idea of the new plan is the closed book approach to the Super League, that’s just ridiculous. It may work in US Sports like NFL and NBA (where new franchises change occasionally) but that’s not right for European football.
This just looks like greedy owners hell bent on making more money and crucially limiting their losses, via the solidarity payments!

Seeing his reaction, it encourages me that the fans will stop it happening.
The fans of these clubs will make it clear they will stop supporting them nor watch them on TV. Without a fan base, no club can survive.
Deep down, I am more than a tad ashamed that THFC has had it's name tarnished by being part of this. I think it is time that DL left as he is showing no thought to the fans - only greed and looking after the wealth of the share holders.

The guy is just 33 and certainly not yet in the category of 'proven'. I think the opportunity of revitalising a top club like Spurs would be a dream come true for him. He may also be just the type of manager to help us keep players like Kane, Son and Alli.

Would you care to re-read this my mate and perhaps make some changes..... Just shows you how quickly things can go pear shaped even after a few matches and bad results. Nothing less than a win next Sunday will stop the knives coming out and demands for Mourinho's head on a plate.

Apparently 12 top European clubs including the top 6 from the EPL want to set up this elite league.
Legally it will be difficult to push through plus bans on players from those clubs playing in European and International competitions may not appeal to the best players in the world. So it may well never happen.
However, if it did and Spurs joined, I will stop supporting them. I am not interested in only watching the same 11 teams with most of them likely to have better squads than ours.
What do others think about being in a super league idea?
    Borodin Edit
@Jamesinashby As we are an integral part of this new league I felt it only right that the topic should now be moved to Spurs news mate. It is possibly the most important bit of news about our club for many a year. Thanks for starting the thread.

Jamesinashby got a reaction from Borodin in Chelsea to bid for Harry ?
I think the possibility of Harry going to Chelsea is zero.
Harry may, very reluctantly, search for trophies with another club. That said, he loves, not just Spurs, but their fans. If he did go to the EPL, I think only Utd have a chance to buy him. He would give up football before going to either Chelsea or Arsenal.
My own view is it will be a top European club.
Like you, he will go with my blessings and heartfelt thanks for all he has done for us, and that includes staying with us for this season to give Mourhino the chance to lead the club to successes.

The word coming out of Germany is that whilst Bayern may come looking for Nagelsmann his current club Leipzig would be reluctant to let him go to a major rival. That leaves the door open for Spurs and the guy is known to be keen to try his talents in the Premier league. He has topped the vast majority of polls when Spurs supporters were asked who they would like as the next manager.
Should we fail to beat City then perhaps Daniel will advise José his contract will be terminated at the end of the season and start negotiations with Leipzig. This would undoubtedly lift the spirits of some of the players (Dele Alli especially and Son seems disillusioned) and perhaps persuade others (Kane in particular) to stay for one more term.
It would certainly do wonders for the morale of this Spurs fan.

Jamesinashby reacted to Borodin in Chelsea to bid for Harry ?
Watching Chelsea beat City yesterday it's clear that the one thing missing in their side is a top class striker. Signing Harry Kane could well be the missing piece of the jigsaw to turn them into a genuine title and trophy chasing team next season. I noticed that Tammy Abrahams was not included in the match and seems to be out of Tuchel's favour. Just wondering if we can expect the billionaire Russian to offer us the 23yr old and some cash in exchange for Mr Kane ?
I'd hate to see him go to an arch rival but as supporters I think we have to brace ourselves for the inevitable speculation that will come about whether or not Harry is staying or leaving, and if it's the latter then where to ?. Talk of him not wishing to take his young family abound and if true then he has little choice of teams other than Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea or Liverpool.
I pray every night that the club do everything within their power to ensure he remains with us but can totally understand the situation from the player's perspective. As a World class striker at 28yrs old this will be his last chance for a massively huge pay day contract and the chance to put some trophies on his mantlepiece.
Whatever he decides I wish him well and every success for the future.

That could well explain your current relapse my mate. Let's hope so and it clears up quickly. You need to have a chat with Gareth Bale and Dele Alli about 'bench pressing'...they've been doing it all season with their arses.

Jamesinashby got a reaction from Borodin in C-virus
I had my 2nd Jab week last Friday.  I have been wondering whether that has brought this relapse on. I am going to phone 911 shortly for advice as I am not improving. I shall ask for a test for Elaine and I.
I have to monitor my BP every 3 days. Today It was 121 over 80 which seems a bit on the low side and may be why I feel a bit light head when I stand.
I'm not being conceited or bragging, but 12 months ago aged 81 I was playing badminton with people 20 years younger than me and was still able to cover the court and and hold my on. In the gym I was bench pressing 65kg and on the lat m/c pulling 65kg. My GP friend put me in the top 0.5% of people my age.Today I can't push myself at all without getting pains in my chest, getting very breathless and feeling weak.!!
I think I have mentioned before about the 4 pensioners living close to me who have died from it - one late 60s and other 3 early 70s. I am lucky to have been born with exceptional genes which I feel is the reason I am surviving it with only irritating milder symptoms.
Go ahead and get the jab.Hopefully it will stop you you catching the virus which, while not necessarily too debilitating, it really does bugger up your daily life if you're unlucky and doesn't seem to go away.

Jamesinashby reacted to Borodin in The Borodin Diet Starts Now....
Just come off the scales and find I am now exactly 13st which means a total loss of 6lbs since April 8th. To say I am pleased is an understatement. I have limited myself to just 1400 calories a day maximum but eat and drink whatever I like until I hit that figure. So today for lunch I shall be having a 200gms fillet steak with mixed veg and gravy, then a weight watchers double chocolate brownie and a glass of red wine. Total intake = 690 calories. That still leaves me 710 calories to spread across the day which will be morning cereal = 100, coffee/tea with milk (no sugar) = 15 per cup, rich tea biscuits = 43 each and four Jacobs crackers with cheese spread = 200.
This method suits me much better than a strict regimented diet as it allows me to still have my little treats and spread my eating over the day to suit myself. If I can maintain this level of reduction I should reach my target of 11 st 7lbs in the first week of June but I realise it gets harder to shift the longer you go so I will plan for the end of June.
It's my birthday tomorrow (66) so I plan on having at least 320 calories of red wine to help me get through the day
@Hastingsyid please as a birthday present can we have some more emoji faces to choose from but most importantly a thumbs up sign which I really miss ?? Cheers mate.
