Kane, Son, Dele, Bergwjin, Fernandes, Moura, Le Celso, N'Dombele, Lamela, Sessengnon, Young Clarke, even Sissoko. A fair bit of flair and attacking talent, with goals in them and we sit behind the ball and invite teams on!!
Jose will stifle and burn these players out!
    Dogs and Peacocks! To simplify...
The dogs play in their half of the pitch and the peacocks in theirs! Most of the above are Peacocks.
We have plenty of Dogs (Dier, Skipp, Winks, Aurier, Davies, Foyth, Japhet, Sanchez and of course Toby and Verts) to do the chasing, harrying, snapping in the first two thirds of the pitch and sure a peacock can take on the form of a dog, just make sure when he does it's in the right third, his third of the pitch. Anything else is a contradiction!

    I can't disagree, Royce.
What we need is a manager who is a cross between Poch and Mou, someone who has a definitive style (preferably on the front foot) that the club plays most of the time but is pragmatic enough to recognize when to change that style to remove an opponent's best chance of beating us.

Our issue is the teams that are struggling like Arsenal and West Ham hate us and will be well up for the game.  Everton, Newcastle Sheffield all will have a go at us and fancy if they beat us could stay above/catch and pass us, Leicester will fancy they can beat us,  Palace are level now and would love to finish above us, and even Bournemouth is away.
I just don’t see JM’s tactics suiting this run in.

I watched the Wolves match - one of my favourite teams to watch when not clashing with Spurs. I really rate Traore and would love us to break the bank to get him (it will never happen).
I did mention before the game that with Sissoko in the side he could cover Aurier's fullback duties so as to allow him to get up the wing. Was Aurier under orders to limit his runs? It wouldn't surprise me.
I also became aware how often Sonny was back defending (which he did well) . There was one occasion we had a back line of 7 players! It would appear that JM is instructing players to play in in a way far removed from how they played under Poch. I remain unconvinced it is possible to get players to change there natural way of playing and they can manage it.
The next 2 or 3 matches should provide enough evidence to judge whether JM is right or wrong with his cautious approach being the only way to tighten the defence. I feel many of the mistakes came from rash actions or being pulled out of position and poor goalie errors. Sitting back and letting the opponents come at you won't eradicate those errors.
Another thought. Are there too many ways of setting up the team? Are the players being asked too much having to play in different formations? It must be bloody difficult to concentrate on job in hand plus play instinctively.

If we are only looking at this one game, I cannot disagree with your take on the tactics to be used. However, I am looking at this game against the backdrop of what we should be aiming for over the 9 games we have left to play.
I have no idea what JM and Levy are looking for. My views are what I feel is essential for the club to achieve. This is not the start of the season with 38 games and room for some bad results. This is only 9 games left with no wriggle room. 2 bad results and a top 6 place could well be beyond us. I say top 6 as it could get us into Europe next season if City remain banned.
In my opinion having a reasonable run in Europe is financially essential if we are to have the money to reinforce the squad with half decent players. Miss out, and achieving success next season becomes immensely more difficult in my opinion. For that reason I prefer the approach where we set out to win matches utilising our very good attacking players. I think by holding these players back in our own half to tighten up the defence reduces considerably our chances of scoring much needed goals.
We have had Lady Luck very much on our side since the restart. Sheff Utd were robbed of 2 points that would have made them difficult to catch if we didn't beat Utd. Arsenal have dropped 6 points including their game in hand. If we had lost to Utd, our position wouldn't have been that much different to where we are tonight - that is dangerously closer to finishing 7th or worse. Had we won, however, 5th or 6th place would still have been a target easier to achieve and Utd  still in our sights. As it is, they are 4 points ahead with a much better goal difference. So too are Wolves now 4 points ahead. Things re no longer in our own hands as we have to win and hope they don't.
They are the reasons why I'm not looking to find any good things from the match. Without the 3 points it doesn't matter what good points there were. For me, looking at the big picture, we are still in a precarious position instead of having control in our own hands of achieving 5th or 6 place.
There are those on here who prefer JM's cautious approach seeing tightening up the defence as the best approach to games. Then there are some thinking along similar lines to me ie play like City and Wolves and to play offensively. It is working for them and would have for Sheff Utd had they not been robbed of a deserved win.
Because we can't play the same match twice, we will ever know if one way is better than the other.
My other big fear is what message is JM sending to the players. Are the forwards and attacking midfielders getting annoyed that he doesn't have faith in them to score goals? Is he making players play differently to how they feel more comfortable in playing? There is little doubt he upset many of his main players at Utd and their form and confidence went. Eventually, he lost the support of the dressing room. It would be a disaster if that happened with Spurs.
That's just how I am looking at these last 9 games and how JM manages. Also my hopes to finish 5th or 6th and not between 7th to 9th. If that happened, I fear there could well be an exodus of our better players and little liklihood of bringing in similar standard replacements.
I might be acting like a drama queen, but I am genuinely worried that I am not seeing any evidence of JH getting on top of the problem.

Now if we come out and do the same against West Ham on Tuesday I will throw a fit.
Spurs need wins right now and can't afford to be more concerned with pretty footie then results. Get Champions League for next year done and dusted. Then next year we can worry about what it looks like.

Get use to this "stagnant" style of play ladies and gents under JM. Sitting back against any 2020 PL side is poor tactics, as these days even teams in the bottom 3 are physically fitter than a decade ago when JM and his style was at his pomp and potentially more effective. Teams/squads these days (including the likes of Norwich, Villa etc, still have the energy and drive to put in a shift to the 95th minute, meaning any team playing against us with a 1 nil deficit will always have a chance!
We will finish 6th or 7th this season, so why not finish 7th or 8th and play with flair and have a go!!
Sorry for sticking my nose in but this style of football under JM is why I removed my nose in the first place!

Basically what you are saying is that we the supporters have been shafted by those running football, players agents, the clubs and the footballers, and I quite agree.
All these players who are idolised by fans, when push comes to shove, will never put the fans and clubs before the themselves. If footballers genuinely felt anything for fans they would not screw clubs into paying them millions even though they also get millions from sponsorships. When someone like Dele Alli drives a Rolls Royce and has £2 million pounds worth of jewellery and watches stolen, it is difficult to feel sorry for him. If he was offered more by another club, he would hold up 2 fingers to the fans and be off like a shot.
In the 50s and 60s when I first started following football, footballers were ordinary working people on wages similar to the fans. They either cycled or used the bus and drank with us in the pubs. Today, they are prima Donna's.
But it is not just football. Many professional sports plus those in entertainment are just as shallow and greedy. Sadly, they have me gripped by the short and curlies. If I simply stop watching football and other sports, it is akin to cutting my nose off to spite my face. I love watching sport and if I give it up there is nothing that can I can replace it with. So, like you, I will continue watching. I will give them credit for their skill, but never particularly like them as a person.
That is just my own personal view - we each have to make up our own minds as to how we deal with the situation.

There could not have been a more poignant period backing on to our run with Poch and our appointment of Jose to show me just how unimportant and self-gratifying football and those directly involved in it have become!
Unfortunately I can no longer tolerate the fact that a large percentage of people (footballers/managers and owners) who are at best average at what they do are rewarded to live the life of kings. An we (supporters) are no more than their slaves/servants who work very hard to be able to support them!
I will no longer be culpable in furnishing these frauds. My values and attitudes have changed dramatically for a few reasons. 1: I have been made aware of a number of these multi, multi millionaires  flaunting their wealth and disregard towards this pandemic that has seen many lives taken. 2: The lack of empathy resulting in no action by a large number of players/chairman towards staff at there "beloved" club who have been furloughed or worse. 3: An returning to my very first point how people who are at best average at what they do continue to recieve rewards above and beyond their ability and significance which for me has now been exposed!
Absolutely I am a hypocrite! I would have crawled over hot coals to have kept Poch at THFC, because in this self-obsessed industry for me he showed a glimmer of honour and respect for what goes on outside the club and it's affairs and he used that to build something and his efforts and demands were dismissed when he challenged the hierarchy, who then chose what they thought would be the quick (silverware) fix and increase the TV glamour and money revenue of the club.
This past 4 months has shown overwhelming actions of selfless bravery, honour, respect and morality. Very little, if none has come from the football world.
    I'm done!

I don't really believe you and I actually hate Levy and JM. For me it is more that we strongly dislike the way they are doing their jobs. I don't particularly like either of them, but I rub shoulders with many people in my life who I don't enjoy being in their company. That doesn't make them wrong or me right, we just see things differently.
We are normal human beings behaving naturally but controlled by our feelings. That is why there are so many different points of view on here. All our lives will have run along different lines and that has a great bearing on how we think and behave. As long as we don't attack others on here but only offer alternative views, it makes the forum interesting.

Sadly, I think you are right. I believe that past experience only reflects the past and can only be used as a guide if it is unblemished. JM, as a manager/coach, can certainly claim to be up there with the very best for the first 3/4s of his career. It fell during his 2nd time with Chelsea and then disintegrated with his time at Utd.
His ability to move his squad into the group of the best in Europe has dissipated whilst his ego shows no sign of abating. For me, if anything, it has worsened. He hasn't moved with the times and adapted his style and approach to the modern game. It killed Utd and I have seen nothing to encourage me to have confidence that he has learned from the debacle of his time at Utd.
Much the same for Levy/Enic. Their tactics were good for moving the club into a strong wealthy club. They even gave us the fantastic stadium. The next step was to concentrate on the football achievements as opposed to the accounts being the best in Europe. I think they are too steeped in making profits and too scared to risk it by providing the cash needed to be a successful top team - one capable of winning the EPL & CL.
Seeing Spurs return to the Glory, Glory days is we'll within our grasp (I believe we are around the 5th richest club in Europe). For me, we need to change the top managers. I would like to see Levy and Mourinho replaced as they are too cautious. I want people more in line with those at Liverpool, City, Bayern Munich, PSG, RM and Barcelona. Aggressive management but not reckless.

So Harry is close to match fitness and the rumours of transfers is resurfacing.
in my opinion Harry is worth 150!Million in today's market. He is not a Messi or Ronaldo and there are not many of their quality around but he is in the next grouping where a regular 20-30 goals a season in a Top Team will win you League Titles and Cups. With them also comes TV Money and the other excessive financial rewards.
Harry is 27 in Jul 2020 and is contracted to Spurs until 2024... I believe on 200K a week.
His injury record has increased in recent years and his goalscoring ability could be affected in his remaining career. If in the remainder of this season he proves his ability then the big clubs could be interested this Summer or they could afford to wait another year (28 yrs) when he may be more intent on finishing his career with trophies and a more lucrative wage.
Spurs have announced we will not sell him to our Competitors....that's alright because Wolves, Sheff Utd,Everton and West Ham couldn't afford the transfer fee or his wages. No it's the Top 6 Premiership and Top Teams in Europe we have to be worried about.
" One of our own" is he?? Will he see out his career with a mediocre Spurs team or take the risk, excitement and probably guaranteed golden finale to his career. I expect he will go and that timing is entirely down to him. I will hold nothing against him as long as he leaves leaving Spurs with a good transfer fee.
Comments on here suggest football and football finances may never be the same again and that may be true but Harry is among the very elite of football of an improving footballer as well as a goalscoring machine. What he wants he will get.!!!!
