    C-virus

This is ridiculous. I have felt reasonably well for a couple of days and this morning, as it is a fine day, I went for a 45 minute gentle walk at 2pm. Since then I haven't just felt physically tired. At the the same time I have felt sleepy tired and constantly yawning. I have been fighting off falling asleep. My worry is if I had gone to bed and not woken up for a few hours I would have missed my evening meal and then not known if I could have got any sleep tonight. I don't feel ill or unhealthy but have no energy and can't be bothered to apply myself to do anything as I also feel mentally tired. It's a real nuisance as I can't plan anything for tomorrow or the next few days. I get bored stiff and fed up and have no idea of how I can introduce some kind of normality to my life. I know a majority of those who get this virus either don't even know they have had it or hardly suffer from it. The thing is, until you get it, you won't know how it will affect you. There are many Covidiots who are taking the risk they will be one of the lucky majority. My advice is to not take that gamble. Although I am not very ill as such, I am bad enough that that it is totally buggering up my life with no apparent light at the end of the tunnel. Take all the precautions and stay safe. COYS

More and more I believe Draxler could do miracles for us. Give Alli to PSG and get Draxler in exchange.

If you are right, then that throws some light on why Mourhino hasn't bothered to pick him. It also makes a lie of him saying he loves Spurs and wants to his best for the club on the field. It also means to me that he shouldn't be picked again, and has shot himself in the foot for simply using Spurs for his own ends and doesn't care about the club to the extent he claims . I think Harry is as patriotic for England, but I think he would never let the club down in the game(s) prior to playing for England. Equally, I don't see him letting England down on International duty. He seems to give his all for both, which is how I feel all international players should play. As a Spurs fan, I only want players who play for the shirt. Just my view. COYS

    The Borodin Diet Starts Now....

Great news. Sadly this morning I was 12 St 3 lbs - that is 17lbs heavier than the start of the 1st lockdown. I would love to start a diet, but at the moment I am comfort eating as it is difficult to not feel miserable and to not feel sorry for myself. When I was younger it was easier to 'man up', but now I am old, I am finding it tougher to get a grip and make myself do the right thing. These days I just give advice and ignore the good advice others give to me. COYS

There's a lot of truth in what you say. Mourinho's idea of rotation doesn't keep the same mixture of players in each formation. He makes wholesale changes and chops and changes pairings. We often look like the defence are not playing as though they understand where each should be or who should close down an advancing opposition player. That is one reason why I am more likely to blame JM when games are poor for his starting lines ups and substitutions rather than the players. I think it was Crom who said the blame lies partly between DL, Mourinho and the players. The 3 are all singing off different hymn sheets. COYS

Most of our performances against the top sides this season have been of the annoying ‘soak-up-the-pressure’ variety, sitting back, defending deep and hitting teams on the break. Never great to watch although It sort of worked (to an extent) in several earlier matches - although too often our various forwards missed sitters that would /could have won us the match and we ended up losing. One of exception to this is the match vs ManU which i recall was more open, with us scoring every chance and taking full advantage of Lamela’s antics to win the red card. So in this game a more confident attacking ManU side seeking to avenge that earlier defeat will no doubt come at us and dominate possession, whilst we sit back and try again on the break. So for us to win in this way I feel loads of our players need to be fully on their game, right throughout the team. Unfortunately, Given our current struggles and potential low squad morale, it’s a very big stretch to see that happening. One positive for us is that we should have a fully fit GLC available, in midfield with NDombele and Hojbjerg. This must surely be one of the best midfields in the prem, on paper! Assuming no injuries My team would be: Llorris, Aurier, Rodon, Toby, Reguillon, Hojbjerg, NDombele, GLC, Moura, Son, Kane. 4-3-3 Lamela, Bale, Dele and Sissoko to be called upon depending on how the match is going.

That's what I love about this place...the difference of opinions without it getting nasty. I'd sell Sanchez in a heartbeat. In Nov 2019 he was valued at £54m, that's down to £35m now and it's only going to go one way in the future in my humble opinion. Take the money and run. The guy makes too many unforced errors.

    The Borodin Diet Starts Now....

Okay, update : After the first week of trying to eat less I weighed myself and discovered I had lost nothing . I was still 13st 8lbs which was a massive blow. Bren and I decided we needed to approach the problem from a different angle so we did a calorie count. It appeared that I needed a calorie intake of between 2400 and 2800 a day to maintain my weight based on my age and current exercise activity. I was advised that an intake of 1600 to 2000 would show a weight loss of between 1 to 2 lbs a week dependant on what end of the scale I used. Last Saturday I opted for an intake of no more than 1500 calories a day. I was quite surprised at what I could eat/drink and enjoy within that range. For example : a glass of red wine = 80, small chocolate bar = 186, small rice pudding = 118, milk for drinks = 12, white bread per slice = 60, fillet steak (200gms) = 310, morning cereal = 100, mixed veg = 40, Bren's delicious gravy = 85, Heinz beans = 156, 4 crackers and cheese spread = 200. So I have persevered all this week which has been just four full days and weighed myself this morning....I am now 13stone 6lbs which means I have lost 2lbs. I am delighted and reckon if I keep to 1500 I should be averaging 2 to 3 lbs a week . Early days I know but it's such an incentive to realise the plan is working whilst not impinging too much on my daily menu. So it's not really just a question of quantity but also how many calories your body is burning up in a day and ensuring your intake is significantly less than that so you are using the fat you wish to lose. Updates to follow....

I agree with that statement but I would also say that Bale's priorities as a player are now definitely Wales first and Tottenham second. He has achieved untold success at club level and to take Wales into the final stages of a major European competition would be the 'icing on the cake' as far as his career is concerned. I am 100% certain that if he was selected for a match just before an important Welsh fixture you would not see a fully committed Gareth Bale on the pitch.

    Reaction to Klopp's moaning

I am thoroughly enjoying Liverpool's fall from super team to being an ordinary top 6 club. Their defeat to Real Madrid last night was a pleasurable watch for me. I still feel angry about that non penalty in the CL final against us so now it is my gloating time against them. COYS

Is that another of your dad's saying? A very apt one and describes our current season exactly as I am one of those who thinks that there is unhappiness in the dressing room. COYS

Just thinking about this fixture and how much Mourinho would probably love to win this and put one over on Ole. These are the matches José loves, ones with a bit of history to them as far as his previous clubs are concerned. There is just one pitfall for the 'Special One' I believe and that is his ability to motivate the team. Following on from his 'same coach, different players' statement he will no doubt have further soured the dressing room atmosphere, which by now must be bordering on mutinous for some of the players. This performance will show just how much the manager/player respect factor has been damaged by his constant refusal to take any blame whatsoever for recent results. I fully expect a lacklustre effort from a disillusioned Spurs team eager to now see the end of the season. No-one is fighting for a place in the match against City as they know it will be down to the unpredictable selection of Mourinho regarding who gets picked. The guy loves to try and surprise opponents with a mind boggling choice of team and I've no doubt he will do the same on April 25th no matter what happens between now and then. Having watched United concede and then fight back against Brighton and compared it to us doing the same but then handing Newcastle a draw I can only see us losing this one. Sadly I must stick by my original forecast and say they beat us 2-0.
