Tottenham Hotspur could be set for a major spending spree this summer, with plans that could see the club invest over £130 million on new signings in the coming weeks, more than their total spend in the previous transfer window.

The least Tottenham Hotspur fans would expect from their club this summer transfer window is a show of ambition, given their last two dismal Premier League campaigns, which saw them finish in 17th place.

Last season was a major wake-up call for the club, with relegation a real possibility as Tottenham had to wait until the final day of the campaign to secure their Premier League status.

The Tottenham supporters’ group has since released a statement making it clear that such a mediocre season cannot be deemed acceptable, demanding change.

The Lewis family, who own the largest shareholding in the club, also stated in their end-of-season message that ambition would be shown this summer.

It is also being claimed that further equity is expected to be injected into Spurs amid a record-breaking art sale.

Regardless, what many fans want is action, and based on recent reports, the next week could see Tottenham spend a whopping £130m on new signings.

Tottenham eye £130m transfer spree, including £60m Savinho

Spurs have already completed the signing of Andy Robertson, although no fee was paid for the Scotland international, who joined on a free transfer.

The second signing expected to be confirmed is Marcos Senesi, Bournemouth’s Player of the Year, who is also set to join on a free transfer after agreeing a four-year deal.

However, greater ambition is expected to be shown, with Spurs actively pursuing deals for Savinho, Joao Palhinha and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Tottenham were in the race for Savinho last summer, but their efforts to land the Manchester City winger fell short, with Pep Guardiola convincing the 22-year-old to remain at the Etihad.

This summer, though, Tottenham could be handed a £10m discount and would reportedly need to pay around £60m to secure the services of the wide forward.

Spurs continue Joao Palhinha, Savinho, and Jan Paul van Hecke pursuits

Joao Palhinha is another player who could arrive in the coming weeks, with Roberto De Zerbi himself reportedly requesting that Palhinha be signed after his pivotal role in Spurs’ relegation battle last season.

Tottenham held a £26m option-to-buy clause in Palhinha’s loan agreement, but reports suggest the club are planning to negotiate a lower fee.

It could cost Spurs between £15m and £20m to secure the Palhinha’s signature this summer, although they must fend off competition from Sporting, who remain keen on bringing him back.

Jan Paul van Hecke could also arrive, with Spurs identifying the Brighton and Hove Albion defender as their priority centre-back target.

Cristian Romero’s future remains uncertain amid interest from Spain, while Manchester United are also reportedly in the mix.

Should Romero depart, a proven Premier League centre-back would be an ideal replacement, and Van Hecke appears to fit the profile De Zerbi is looking for.

Tottenham must still reach an agreement with Brighton, who are not budging from their valuation of the defender.

Spurs have already seen two bids rejected by the Seagulls, but the expectation is that a third offer, believed to be worth around £50m, could be accepted.

Personal terms are not expected to be an issue, with reports claiming that Van Hecke has already agreed terms with Tottenham.

Should Spurs complete deals for all three players, they could spend around £130m – more than they invested during last summer’s transfer window.
