How Tottenham’s net spend could drop below £120m by the end of this week

After a historic summer transfer window filled with plenty of movement at Tottenham, we take a look at the Lilywhites’ surprising net spend.

Tottenham Hotspur were one of the busiest sides in England, completing ten signings in the just‑concluded summer window and spending £394 million in the process.

Roberto De Zerbi’s side also became one of only five Premier League clubs to sign a £100 million player, after securing Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United.

In terms of sales, Spurs were equally proactive, moving on several players who wanted out, including Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero and Djed Spence.

Young players with significant potential were also allowed to leave, although Spurs ensured clauses were included that could allow them to compete for their signatures again in future.

Overall, it was a window that saw a remarkable 54 Spurs transfers completed across the senior and youth levels.

Tottenham’s net spend from busy 2026 summer transfer window revealed

It certainly was a historic transfer market, with Tottenham recording their highest ever spend in a single window following their £394 million outlay.

An initial flurry saw Spurs spend £237 million in the opening weeks, before a further £157 million was committed late on as attention turned to bolstering their attack.

Sales remained a constant theme throughout the summer, even going down to deadline day, with Tottenham able to close several departures for key players.

Kevin Danso secured a £2.5 million loan move to Sunderland, which includes a £22.25 million obligation to buy, while Pape Matar Sarr completed a loan move to Juventus, with the Serie A side holding a conditional obligation to buy the 23‑year‑old midfielder.

The conditions require Sarr to play 50 per cent of Juventus’ matches this season, while the club must also qualify for next season’s Champions League. Should those conditions be met, Sarr will be signed permanently for £25.6 million next summer.

Tottenham’s deadline‑day activity also saw the Lilywhites complete the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo for £10 million plus £2 million in add‑ons, while Mykhailo Mudryk completed a loan move with Spurs holding a £75 million option to buy.

Dane Scarlett also secured a permanent transfer to Leyton Orient for free with add‑ons, while Spurs included a sell‑on clause.

With all business agreed, Tottenham’s spend this summer stands at £389 million, while their income from outgoings sits at £254.8 million.

That figure could rise to £263.3 million if Vicario’s £8.5 million fee included in his loan to Juventus is activated.

For now, after a busy summer filled with movement, Tottenham’s net spend sits at £139.2 million.

But Tottenham may not be done yet, despite the British window closing on Tuesday at 11 pm. That’s because Richarlison is now being linked with a late move to Turkey,

The news emerged on Wednesday afternoon that Tottenham had rejected two bids from Trabzonspor for Richarlison. Fabrizio Romano later revealed that Spurs had turned down offers of £15m and £20m from the Turkish side, but Trabzonspor were expected to return.

If the Lilywhites can sanction a late deal of £25m or more for Richarlison, then their net spend could tumble down even further to below the £120m mark. Not bad for such an extensive summer rebuild.
