Tottenham Hotspur continue to be linked with a host of attacking reinforcements, while fresh developments have also emerged regarding several current first-team players.
Despite spending £237m on transfers this summer, Tottenham have already recouped £89.1m through player sales, leaving them only around £35m short of their most expensive transfer window in history.
Looking at the number of links still surrounding the club, Spurs appear far from finished. Their attacking rebuild is yet to be completed and, over the coming weeks, this could comfortably become the most expensive transfer window in the club’s history.
Even with those eye-catching figures, it still has the potential to be viewed as an excellent window overall, with Tottenham expected to generate further funds through additional departures.

Let’s take a look at the biggest Tottenham transfer stories from the past few days.

Tottenham transfer round-up: Eli Junior Kroupi and Randal Kolo Muani
Tottenham’s search for a new striker continues to revolve around Eli Junior Kroupi, who scored 13 goals in his debut Premier League season for Bournemouth. Spurs had looked to be leading the race after reports suggested Kroupi had given the green light to joining De Zerbi’s project in pursuit of regular first-team football.
However, Football Insider have now reported that Arsenal have moved ahead of Spurs in the race. Their sources claim the Gunners are now in pole position, while Pete O’Rourke has also warned that Bournemouth’s asking price could ultimately push the deal beyond Tottenham’s reach. Given Arsenal have conducted relatively little business so far this summer, there is every chance they could decide to go big on Kroupi.
Elsewhere, several reports have backed our previous update that Tottenham remain interested in bringing Randal Kolo Muani back to North London despite his disappointing Premier League spell last season. Spurs are understood to favour another loan move, while PSG would prefer a permanent sale.
Ben Jacobs reveals Tottenham’s advantage in Cody Gakpo race
Wide forward remains another priority, with Savinho, Cody Gakpo and Rafael Leao all linked over recent weeks. There has been little movement regarding Savinho beyond the Brazilian continuing to fuel speculation by regularly interacting with Tottenham players on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has effectively dismissed reports linking Spurs with Rafael Leao, leaving Cody Gakpo firmly back in the spotlight after fresh reports suggested Manchester United also admire the Liverpool winger.
However, journalist Ben Jacobs believes Tottenham currently hold an important advantage. He explained, “He has always been somewhat appreciated, but we know that Man Utd and Liverpool just do not really do business. So whether or not that could possibly get off the ground, I am not so sure.
“Liverpool are quite calm about the situation, but Tottenham might consider that deal… If Gakpo specifically asks to leave Liverpool, then let us see whether Premier League clubs come forward. And it seems like Tottenham are the most concrete suitor.”
Djed Spence exit latest, replacement lined up, Lucas Bergvall twist
One of the more unexpected stories of recent weeks has been the uncertainty surrounding Djed Spence’s future despite his impressive performances for England at the World Cup.
Everton were the first club linked with the full-back before Fabrizio Romano revealed that Inter Milan are also considering a move, depending on their budget and other transfer priorities. Transfer expert Pete O’Rourke believes Tottenham would only seriously consider a sale if offers exceeded £40m.
Spurs have already begun preparing for that possibility. One Tottenham insider claims the club have identified Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams as a potential replacement and have already made contact to explore a deal.
Interestingly, the same report adds that Forest are continuing discussions over Lucas Bergvall, despite recent reports suggesting Tottenham now want to keep the midfielder after he previously informed the club he wanted to leave.
Tottenham transfer round-up: Harry Kane reunion talk and Marcus Rashford contact
Saving arguably the biggest talking point until last, fresh reports have once again linked Harry Kane with a return to Tottenham.
Spurs reportedly remain among the clubs closely monitoring Kane’s situation, with intermediaries making both the striker and his representatives aware of interest. Tottenham are also understood to be keeping a close eye on developments, helped by the right-to-match clause included in his departure agreement.
While no move is currently under discussion, Spurs could be in a position to explore a reunion next summer should the right circumstances arise.
Tottenham also remain in contact over Marcus Rashford. After we reported Spurs would be prepared to meet the England international’s £325,000-per-week wage demands, another outlet has now stated that Tottenham have made the most concrete contact with Rashford’s representatives so far.
However, Rashford’s preference is understood to be joining a club that can offer Champions League football next season.
