Tottenham’s transfer window shows no signs of slowing down, with fresh developments emerging across several incoming and outgoing deals as Roberto De Zerbi prepares for the new Premier League season.
It has been an encouraging start to Tottenham’s 2026 pre-season campaign, with De Zerbi’s side winning all four of their friendlies so far, including Saturday’s 2-1 victory over fierce London rivals Chelsea in Sydney.
Ahead of that match, De Zerbi revealed that Spurs were only ’60 per cent’ done in the transfer market despite already spending £237m on six first-team signings this summer. The Italian also teased supporters by saying another “bomba” is still to come before the transfer window closes on September 1.
The Tottenham head coach also made it clear that the player he was referring to is an attacker, with Spurs having already completed the bulk of their defensive and midfield business. Alongside those expected arrivals, attention also turns towards a number of high-profile departures.

Tottenham transfer round-up: Cody Gakpo and Savinho update
Shortly after De Zerbi’s “bomba” comments, Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe claimed that Cody Gakpo is now the ‘leading contender’ among Spurs’ attacking targets.
The Liverpool forward had already been linked with Tottenham earlier this summer, although the initial stance was that Liverpool had not opened the door to his departure and Gakpo himself had given no indication that he wanted to leave Anfield.
That picture appears to have changed slightly as recent reports suggest the Netherlands international is open to joining Tottenham, while Liverpool are now willing to consider offers if their ‘premium’ valuation, believed to be around £72m, is met.
O’Keefe also indicated that Gakpo would arrive alongside Savinho rather than instead of him. The Manchester City winger remains Tottenham’s priority target after agreeing personal terms with the club and is understood to be pushing internally for the move.
However, reports claim City have changed their valuation during talks, leading Spurs to make it clear they are prepared to walk away if discussions continue to drag on. The coming days are therefore expected to be crucial.
Three surprise strikers emerge on Tottenham’s radar
After Tottenham cooled their interest in Bournemouth striker Eli Kroupi Jr following his injury, three unexpected centre-forward links have emerged over the last few days.
The first is Barcelona’s Ferran Torres, fresh from his World Cup triumph after scoring the winning goal in the final against Argentina.
Reports claim Tottenham have ‘maintained contact’ with the Spaniard’s representatives and would welcome the opportunity to discuss a move should he decide to return to the Premier League. Arsenal are also interested, although Paris Saint-Germain are currently viewed as the frontrunners.
Meanwhile, reports from Turkey claim Tottenham have made an initial approach for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen. Spurs are said to be prepared to offer between £50m and £55m, although the Turkish club are believed to value the Nigeria international closer to £65m.
Coming as a huge surprise, Tottenham were also briefly linked with Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson after his disappointing loan spell at Bayern Munich, with the Blues valuing him at around £65m. But within hours of those reports surfacing, Football.London’s Alasdair Gold insisted Spurs have no plans to pursue the Senegal international.
Roberto De Zerbi ‘loves’ Omar Marmoush
Unlike the three names above, Omar Marmoush has been linked with Tottenham for much of the summer.
The Egyptian has struggled for regular opportunities behind Erling Haaland over the past 18 months, and Alasdair Gold now believes Spurs could still explore a move for him before the deadline.
According to Gold, Marmoush is part of De Zerbi’s attacking shortlist alongside Savinho and Cody Gakpo, with the Tottenham head coach said to ‘love’ the Egyptian forward.
The journalist also suggested Marmoush would be viewed as more of an alternative to Gakpo given both players can operate across the front line or through the middle.
At an estimated £50m to £60m, Marmoush could also prove the easier deal to complete, with Manchester City thought to be more open to his departure than Liverpool are with Gakpo.
Tottenham transfer round-up: Cristian Romero and Manor Solomon exit latest
Several reports over the past few days have claimed Tottenham and Inter Milan are edging closer to an agreement over club captain Cristian Romero.
The clubs are understood to be close on a fee of around €40m (£34m), while Fabrizio Romano has suggested there is no issue between Spurs and Inter over the transfer fee itself.
The remaining obstacle is personal terms, with Romero reportedly seeking wages similar to his current £195,000 per week salary. Inter are expected to make a decision ‘soon’, although Atletico Madrid continue to monitor the situation after Barcelona dropped out of the race.
Manor Solomon also appears increasingly likely to move on despite featuring heavily during Tottenham’s pre-season schedule, with only Archie Gray playing more minutes so far.
West Ham have reportedly identified the winger as their priority replacement for Crysencio Summerville, with talks between the clubs expected to continue this week. Tottenham are believed to value Solomon at around £20m.
