Tottenham Hotspur are just days away from beginning their Premier League campaign, but there is still plenty of work to do in the transfer market before the window closes.
After nearly three months without competitive club action, Tottenham are now less than three days away from kicking off their 2026/27 Premier League campaign with a trip to Brentford on Saturday.
Spurs may still not have everything in place for that fixture, with just two fit senior forwards currently available. That is far from ideal for a side looking to bounce back after finishing 17th in each of the last two seasons.
However, Tottenham still have around 10 days to complete their attacking business, with several reports suggesting that three more forwards could arrive. It may sound a bit unrealistic, but Spurs are desperate for reinforcements, and anything remains possible.
There has also been plenty of fresh transfer news over the last few days, so here is everything worth catching up on.

Tottenham transfer round-up: Savinho and Cody Gakpo update
Regular Spurs Web readers will know that much of Tottenham’s transfer business in recent weeks has centred around Savinho and Cody Gakpo, who remain at the top of the club’s attacking wishlist.
Starting with Savinho, the Brazil international is pushing for a move to Tottenham and has already agreed personal terms with the club. He has even missed Manchester City’s training and was left out entirely for their Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.
City have been willing to sanction his departure for some time, but the deal has depended on them finding a replacement first. That player is understood to be Chelsea’s Pedro Neto, although his valuation has proved too high for Man City and little progress has been made.
Things became even more complicated when Jeremy Doku suffered a calf injury at the weekend, with reports suggesting that his absence could make City even more reluctant to let Savinho leave given the lack of options on the flank.
Almost immediately afterwards, reports emerged that City had once again changed their valuation of Savinho, with the latest figure understood to be as high as £85m.
Despite all of that, Tottenham are reportedly ‘increasingly confident’ of getting a deal done for the Brazilian before the September 1 deadline.
As for Cody Gakpo, the Dutchman is also keen on joining Spurs and has already agreed personal terms, but Liverpool continue to insist that he is not for sale.
Some journalists now believe a move could be difficult given how impressive Gakpo has been during Liverpool’s pre-season and the belief that new manager Andoni Iraola can get the best out of him.
Tottenham are yet to make an offer for the forward, although that could change if Liverpool complete moves for Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.
Richarlison remains unsure over Tottenham future
Richarlison has enjoyed an excellent pre season, but Roberto De Zerbi has confirmed that Tottenham’s top scorer from last season remains unsure over whether he wants to stay at the club. The Italian also admitted that replacing the Brazil international would not be straightforward.
A few days ago, it was revealed that Everton, Richarlison’s former club and long-term admirers, have been in ‘regular contact’ with Spurs over a possible reunion.
One Tottenham insider even claimed that the Toffees had submitted a bid, although that has since been denied by several reliable sources.
Alasdair Gold has also revealed that multiple clubs are interested in Richarlison, with Flamengo and Benfica among those linked alongside Everton.
Tottenham are unlikely to let him leave cheaply despite the fact that he has less than a year remaining on his current contract, as Spurs hold an option to extend it for another season.
The 29-year-old has also attracted interest from Turkey, Italy and Saudi Arabia, although his preference is understood to be remaining in the Premier League.
Tottenham insider Paul O’Keefe has claimed that Spurs would want around £40m to sanction his departure.
Pape Sarr and Destiny Udogie could also make surprise exits
Despite De Zerbi describing Pape Sarr as a ‘crucial’ player, several reports throughout the summer have suggested that Tottenham are prepared to cash in on the midfielder given the competition for places in his position.
Brentford were among the first clubs linked with Sarr and could ‘revisit’ a deal in the coming weeks. Aston Villa have also emerged as potential suitors after looking for a replacement for Youri Tielemans, with the club reportedly attracted by Tottenham’s modest £30m valuation.
More recently, Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli have been ‘exploring’ a deal for the 23 year old, according to the Daily Mail, also confirmed by Ben Jacobs.
According to Jacobs, Tottenham ‘will not stand in his way’ if the Senegal international decides he wants to leave.
Destiny Udogie could also be the subject of a late move, with AS Roma reportedly targeting the left back. The Italian club have already received a ‘yes’ from Udogie and are now in ‘constant contact’ with Tottenham over a possible loan deal with an obligation to buy.
Spurs remain reluctant to entertain that proposal, though, and it is difficult to see them sanctioning another departure from the position after recently selling Djed Spence to Inter Milan.
Tottenham transfer round-up: Harry Kane reunion blow and Omar Marmoush talks advance
Harry Kane’s name has appeared a few times on Tottenham’s radar this summer as Spurs continue to search for a new striker, with their all-time leading scorer now entering the final year of his Bayern Munich contract.
Tottenham have remained informed about developments surrounding the England captain, while TeamTalk recently claimed that Kane is attracting significant interest as the transfer window approaches its final days.
His brother and agent, Charlie Kane, has reportedly held talks with Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, while negotiations over a new Bayern contract are also ongoing.
And Kane himself recently addressed the possibility of returning to the Premier League, admitting that while he had initially thought about it, ‘the itch isn’t there anymore’. The striker also stressed how happy he is in Munich.
Elsewhere, David Ornstein recently dropped a major update by confirming that Tottenham are working on a double deal with Manchester City for Omar Marmoush and Savinho.
The Egypt international has been linked with Spurs before and has previously been described as a player De Zerbi is a ‘big fan’ of.
Ornstein has now revealed that talks with City are ‘advancing’, although there is still work to be done.
